OKAPT has been really busy with Lunch and Learns. The last one on July 14th in Tulsa was a great success. We are glad we are getting to provide our members with more and more perks for being a part of this great organization. The next Lunch and Learn training will be held on August 18th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. The training will be done by Betsy Maguire and will be on Play Therapy with Sandtrays. As always, members will get 2 CEUs for FREE. If you are not a member, the cost will be $30. HOWEVER, we want to encourage those new to the field to come, so we will provide one training for FREE for non-members to get a feel of what OKAPT has to offer you and your professional development. So, if you have never come to a training please join us! Also, check out the website for the most up-to-date information on trainings and if a training is coming to your area soon! www.oka4pt.com
From the desk of the President-Elect…
The APT dude has been working hard this summer! Pictured here with Sharon Beets, OKAPT President Elect, he attended New Hope Summer Camp. The Dude was assisted by interns from
FIVE Oklahoma Colleges and Universities. These students were bachelor and master level counseling students all interested in Play Therapy. NSU-BA, OSU, OU, East Central, and Tulsa Community College were represented. The interns and Dude provided activities for campers during four afternoon sessions.
New Hope is an organization that provides support and outreach to children who have a parent incarcerated.
Way to go Guys!!
