 Fun Fact
o The Association for Play Therapy calendar year begins on April 1st. Although we are close to being half way done with 2018, our APT year has just begun! We can’t wait to see you at the Lunch and Learns for this year!

Hi Play Therapy Enthusiasts!

Spring has sprung! Although I don’t think the weather is cooperating with it right now. I know I am ready for some warmer days up ahead. This season also marks the close of another year for the Association for Play Therapy. We are hoping to hear back soon if we have made the requirements to be considered a ‘Gold Branch’. A Gold Branch is a branch under the Association for Play Therapy that has obtained goals for trainings, networking, membership growth, RPT/S growth, and spreading the work of play therapy in the community. I will let you know if we have met our goal for Gold Branch in an upcoming newsletter.

Lunch-and Learns are also still in process at this time. We have a tentative date of May 18th for Oklahoma City. As I said in the previous newsletter, we are wanting to branch out to various communities in Oklahoma. We should get those scheduled soon and have some information about when a training is coming to your area! We are excited about this year for OKAPT and all it has to hold. We hope to see you at a training soon!

Thank you,
Nancy Rumley Soliz, MS, LMFT, RPT-S

Hi, Play Therapy Enthusiasts!

I hope this newsletter finds you all well. We had a very successful National Play Therapy week in Oklahoma! I saw lots of people getting out there and spreading awareness of play therapy to various populations. Thank you all for your involvement!

We have just met as a board and discussed upcoming Lunch and Learn schedules. We are hoping this year to spread out to more rural communities across the state that don’t get as much access to training opportunities, while still having a presence in the metro areas. As soon as we get trainings scheduled, I will inform you via this newsletter and you will also have access to the information online at: www.oka4pt.com.

Thank you!

Hi, Play Therapy Enthusiasts!

Happy Play Therapy Week! Play Therapy week is February 4-10th this year. What are you doing in your community to bring awareness to the field of play therapy? I was able to reach out to a local family magazine in central Oklahoma and get an article published. Check it out: http://www.metrofamilymagazine.com/February-2018/What-is-Play-Therapy/
I also participated in a youtube video with my therapy group highlighting play therapy. Those are just a couple of ideas that you can use to bring awareness to play therapy in your local area. I hope you can take some time out of your week to share your experience of play therapy with someone new!

I also just wanted to give a note of thanks to everyone for joining us at this year’s conference with speaker Dr. Terry Kottman! We had a great time and are looking forward to preparing for the following year.

On a final note, Lunch and Learns will be scheduled soon. Please check back with us in the next newsletter or online!

Have a great week!
