Dear Members:

I’m writing to you just after a networking coffee date with some fabulous play therapists in Norman on Friday! We had lots to say about lots of topics, but one thing we shared was our favorite play therapy intervention.

It was interesting to hear how each therapist utilizes their favorite intervention: as a joining and grounding activity, to provide externalization for the client’s fears and feelings, or to create safety and security within the therapeutic space.

I felt refreshed and energized after our time together, as I always do when connecting with like-minded, passionate play professionals!

Speaking of networking events, we’re planning to get our OKAPT members together at the APT Conference in Palm Springs on Thursday, October 12th. Mark your calendar and check your inbox for details on location!

As always, I feel immensely grateful for our organization and for you, its valued members. We are excited to continue to advance the field of play therapy in Oklahoma, and we appreciate all the ways you care for children and their families in our great state.

Playfully yours,

Julie Reising, LMFT-S, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™
2023-2024 President
